Overview

Sounds for iMessage ("the app") is an iMessage extension that lets you browse and send audio clips in conversations. Your privacy matters. This policy explains what data we collect and how we handle it.

Data We Do Not Collect

We do not collect, store, or transmit any of the following:

• Names, email addresses, or phone numbers
• Location data
• Contacts or address book data
• Photos, videos, or files
• Browsing history
• Device identifiers for advertising
• Ad IDs or cross-app tracking identifiers

The app does not require an account. There is no login, no registration, and no profile.

Data Stored on Your Device

The app stores a small amount of data locally on your device using standard iOS storage (UserDefaults). This includes:

• Which sounds you have recently played
• Which sounds are marked as new
• Purchase status (whether you have unlocked premium sounds)
• An anonymous install identifier used for product analytics
• A cached copy of the sound catalog for offline use

Purchases

In-app purchases are processed entirely by Apple through the App Store. We use RevenueCat, a purchase management service, to verify purchase receipts and manage entitlements.

RevenueCat may receive:

• An anonymous app user ID (not linked to your identity)
• Purchase transaction data from Apple

RevenueCat does not receive your name, email, or any personally identifiable information from us. You can review RevenueCat's privacy policy at https://www.revenuecat.com/privacy.

Network Requests & Anonymous Analytics

The app connects to our server (hosted on Supabase) to fetch the latest sound catalog and trending sounds.

The app also sends lightweight anonymous product analytics events to Supabase to help improve app quality and content strategy.

Examples include:

• App opens
• Sound sends
• Receiver playback events
• Locked-sound taps and paywall views
• Purchase and restore success events

These events may include an anonymous install ID, event timestamp, app version, and optional sound/category IDs. They do not include names, email addresses, phone numbers, contacts, message content, or ad identifiers.

Children's Privacy

The app does not knowingly collect any personal information from children. Since we do not collect personal profile data from users, no special provisions are required.

No advertising SDKs, ad identifiers, or cross-app tracking frameworks are used.

Changes to This Policy

If we update this policy, we will revise the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance.
